Fake Honey Pictures is a film and photography initiative that focuses on creating visual stories around the world. The name Fake Honey comes from our love of authentic honey and our difficulty finding it on our world travels.
We're focused on creating visually stunning, emotion-driven, human-centered stories that pack a punch.
Our network of talented filmmakers are based in central hubs around the world. From Vancouver to New York, Istanbul to London, Dubai to Nairobi, Dhaka to Tokyo and many more locations. By hiring local creators instead of flying crews in, we are eliminating the need of global travel while helping to reduce carbon emissions and cutting project costs dramatically.
We work with Intergovernmental organizations, NGOs and major international media outlets such as Agence-France Presse AFP-TV, Reuters, ARD, ARTE, France24 and Swiss TV.
In 2019, we were commissioned by UNHCR Canada to create short films focusing on refugee sponsorship in Canada. Our latest art work focuses on an interactive shadow installation by two artists traveling to refugee communities in Turkey and Greece. Selections of our photographs and video material were exhibited at the McCord Museum in Montreal, Canada.
A video installation we edited, Transformations: The Emirati National House, exhibited in Venice at the 2016 Architecture Biennale.
Also, When Ink Turns into Light, our short-doc screened at the Art of Peace, a symposium on the role of arts in peace-building at the Institute for Peace and Justice in San Diego, California.
While we continue our travels, we like to stop and share some real, authentic honey with people along the way.
